The Western Swing Society's 27th Annual
WESTERN SWING HALL OF FAME
MUSIC FESTIVAL

When and Where:

The 2008 Festival will begin the evening of Thursday, October 2nd and end late Sunday, October 5th.  
It will take place at the Machinists Hall in Rancho Cordova, near Sacramento, California.

The Program:

The listeners and dancers will be entertained by thirteen (13) Western Swing bands from the Southwestern
and Pacific Western states, and by morning and late night jam session sets where musicians from the different
bands get together and produce spontaneous music.  CLICK HERE FOR LIST OF BANDS

On Thursday evening the music will begin at 5:00 p.m. and continue until 1:30 a.m. the following morning.

On Friday and Saturday the music starts at 9:00 a.m.  and continues until 1:30 a.m the following morning.

On Sunday morning the music will start at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until after midnight, except during the
Hall of Fame induction ceremony which takes place between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. In the ceremony,
new nominees, performers, and others who have made significant contribution  to the preservation
and promotion of  Western Swing Music, will be inducted into the Western Swing Hall of Fame.

After the ceremony, the music begins and continues until 1:00 Monday morning.

Food, Drink and Lodging:

The music, food, beverages, and free parking will all be available at one location at ground level.  
Rooms are available at a special reduced rate for the event at the nearby La Quinta Inn, 11131

Admission to the Festival:  (Thursday night is free)

Friday will be $5, Saturday and Sunday are $10 each, or you can pay $20 in advance for all
three days. Hall of Fame members not performing in the Festival  will be charged $10 for all
three days and $10 for their companions. No admission will be charged for Inductees or persons
performing in Festival bands, nor for one of their companions. Persons serving as volunteer workers
will be admitted free on the days they work.
