            Clyde ‘pee wee’Sutton passed

We’ve losta wonderful friend and country music ‘star’.May his light shine in the heavens and the  twinkle in his eye remind us of his grace and dignity forever. . . . Richard Dart

This is from Suzy King:

My dad, Clyde “Pee Wee” Sutton left this world on September 1, 2010, to join his Maker’s band. He issurvived by his loving wife Mellanie, his 6 children,13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial celebration and reception will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, September 13, 2010, at  Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Boulevard, Sacramento, California.

Dad went home to Jesus on September 1, 2010, at 6:30 a.m. The nurses, therapists, and CNA’s at  Vintage Estates always told us how much they loved “Poppy” and, during the last 24 hours of his life, I learned that they were telling us the truth.

Dadwent peacefully, without trauma or excitement. On Tuesdaymorning he just quit eating, and on Wednesday morning he passed between onebreath and the next… in the twinkling of an eye he went home.

Duringhis last day I was blessed to be with him for nearly the entire time. During the hours of my vigil I witnessed each of his Vintage Estates care givers check on him frequently… not because it was their job, but because they knew they were losing him and they didn’t want to see him go. I needed to leave for a couple of hours on Tuesday evening and when I returned, I found his nurses and CNA’s sitting around his bed keeping watch over him until I could get back to him. As each one left for home, they came to say their good-nights, and as the next shift came on, new ones were dropping by to say hello. Dad shared a room with 2 other men, but it was only Dad they were coming to visit. They cared for the other gentlemen, but they lingered over Dad.

We played soothing music continuously in Dad’s room during his final battle, and I sat by him, stroking his brow and whispering how much his wife and children love him, and how we were all there with him. I could see that he was visibly comforted by the music, the words, and the gentle touch of my hand.

In the end, he just let go and went home with Jesus. I know he is with the Lord because I was blessed to hear him rededicate his life to Christ, and watched as he cried tears of joy for two hours following that rededication. His demeanor changed immediately, and his gentle, loving side became his new self.

On behalf of my mom, my brothers and sister, our children, and grandchildren, it is with deepest appreciation that we thank you all for your prayers and loving support. We will miss our precious father, but are comforted to know he is with Christ and that we will see him again whole and happy.

In Christ, Clyde’s daughter Suzy King
